ADVICE PROCESS
The PLP experience starts with sharing your financial and lifestyle goals with us. We use this meeting to gain a better understanding of your current financial position, your personal values, and what concerns you about the future. It’s this initial meeting that allows us determine if we can help you with your finances, including wealth protection.
At this point there is no obligation to continue any further if you don’t think it’s the right fit. If, however you want to continue the journey with PLP, we fully manage the implementation process of our strategies. Examples of this may be rolling over your superannuation funds, setting up an investment account or establishing a new pension on your behalf. We aim to commence this process as quickly as possible, to give you peace of mind that you’ve taken the first steps towards controlling your financial future.
REVIEW PROCESS
Quality financial planning and advice does not end with the initial plan and investment, it requires the capability to react to changes. At PLP, we will provide an ongoing service and review facility that’s designed to make sure your financial plan continues to meet your objectives and adds value to your investment portfolio over time, and can also review your ongoing Insurance and Superannuation needs.
The process, and how often we review your situation, is something that you can discuss with your Personal Lifestyle Planner.
STEP-BY-STEP TO THE PLP PROCESS
- Our Financial Services Guide and company profile is presented to a client in our Appointment Confirmation email, which is sent prior to our first meeting.
- We then engage in a complimentary Initial Consultation with you. This is where we will ask all the questions and listen to your requirements to better understand what your individual needs and goals are. Fact finding and research material will be gathered (including collection of personal data such as medical history, financial situation and lifestyle goal and objectives) to make sure we are giving you the most appropriate advice for your unique situation.
- Our next meeting, the Strategy Meeting, will outline the strategy we believe will assist you in your financial journey. The purpose of this meeting is to listen to your thoughts on what we have covered. At this point we will agree on our fees.
- Once we have your approval, we will prepare the Statement of Advice. This document is unique to your situation and will take into consideration your needs and goals.
- Our final appointment in this process will be the Presentation Meeting, where we will present your Statement of Advice, explain the strategy in detail, and then run through the products we recommend and why they are suited to your strategy. Once we are certain that you are satisfied, we will complete the necessary paperwork with you.
TIMELINE
The time from our Initial Consultation to the Strategy Meeting will be reliant on how complex your situation is. We may need to research options to get the right answers for you. Typically, we allow 2 to 3 weeks between these meetings, and we will set the date for the Strategy meeting during our Initial Consult.
The timeframe between the Strategy and Presentation meetings is usually a little bit longer, as we research which products will best fit the situation and then prepare the Statement of Advice. Typically, we allow 3 to 4 weeks between these meetings, but that will be dependent on the advice that is required. We will set the date for the Presentation Meeting at the Strategy Meeting.
The amount of time for the journey from the initial meeting through to the implementation of any advice is different from one client to the next. We will make sure you are informed of time frames throughout your journey with Personal Lifestyle Planners.
